The Soviet Union design one of the most common open bolt sub machine guns of WWII, the PPS-43. From the military personal that I have met and that served in the Middle East, they said they also encounter them still today. THESE are FULLY ATF APPROVED "pistol", imported from Poland, that fires from a closed bolt, only in semi automatic. The folding stock is wielded into the closed position, since the barrel is less than 10 inches long. These are a sure head turner at the range and a sure blast to shoot.
