D Moore 7 Shooter Belt Revolver, sn# 2059- This is the 7 shot Moore cartridge belt revolver with desirable 6 inch octagonal barrel, 32 rimfire caliber. The silver plated brass frame is beautifully hand engraved with scrollwork and retains about 80% of the silver plate. The cylinder and barrel retain very little of the original factory finish. Walnut grips are unmarred with no chips. The barrel is marked “D. MOORE. PATENT. SEPT, 18. 1860.” 100% original except for a proper replacement ejector rod, which was very common with the Moores as the ejectors are a simple rolled steel rod retained only by a tiny spring in the frame and most originals were lost during the war.   100% complete and mechanically sound with good visible rifling. Barrel/cylinder lock mechanisms is smooth and allows the cylinder to easily rotate for loading and ejecting. A very fine example. These revolvers  were made in the early 1860’s and were popular with Union officers throughout the war.
