Colt Model 1911 Serial number dates the gun from 1918. # is 332254. On the right side of the slide it says Model of 1911. U.S. Army. On the left side of the slide it says patented Apr. 20, 1897. Sept. 9, 1902. Under that it says Dec. 19, 1905. Feb. 14, 1911. Aug. 19, 1913. Colt rearing horse. Colt's PT. F. A. mfg. CO. Under that HARTFORD CT. U.S.A. Below the slide on the frame it says UNITED STATES PROPERTY. On the left side of the frame is the Eagle head mark with a S14 under it for the Springfield inspection mark. There is a P and an H on the barrel in the area of the injector port. On the slide above where the hammer hits the fireing pin is either an M or H.
