This iconic lever action sports a hammerless design with a rotary, internal, magazine that has a round counter visible from the side of the rifle. The safety locks the lever and the trigger and there is a "cocked" indicator on the top of the receiver. The 250-3000 cartridge was the first round to break the 3000 ft/sec plane and was the predecessor to the 22-250.

TAKE THIS INFO WITH A GRAIN OF SALT, I LEARNED IT FROM THE INTERNET, PLEASE DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH BEFORE ATTEMPTING THE FOLLOWING:

From what I understand the 250-3000 is hard to find ammo, but if you use a 22-250 shell in the gun you can "Fire-form" your 22-250 rounds in the 250-3000 gun. The 22-250 brass, after having been fired out of the 250-3000, will form itself to the chamber and will be reloadable as 250-3000.
