Century Arms HG5635-N: The long-awaited next generation to Canik's popular TP9 series of pistols is here. Behold, the new Mete line of pistols (pronounced Met-Ay). The upgrades on this pistol are subtle at first, but when holding this pistol, you can feel the incredible upgrades that Canik has put on this model. The Mete features a more ergonomic frame with an integrated flared magwell, a deep beavertail, an undercut trigger guard, and more aggressive texturing throughout. The mete feels like a dream in hand. They have kept their short reset single-action trigger design with nickel-coated action components and ambidextrous handling so previous Canik owners will not have to worry about learning new controls. The slide features front and rear slide serrations for positive manipulation in all weather conditions and a loaded chamber indicator so you can tell if your pistol is loaded in low light conditions. Canik has upgraded the sights to combat sights that can be used to rack the slide one-handed and co-witness with a wide range of red dot optics. The internal changes begin with easy in / easy out push pins that can be removed using slight pressure and the Canik punch. From there, the entire platform's internals is modular in the sense that it can be completely disassembled and then reassembled with ease using only the Canik punch. Mounting accessories are doable because of the 1913 rail in front of the trigger guard, and the slide is cut for Trijicon RMRcc/Shield RMS. This model also comes with two additional optics plates to fit a multitude of different red dots. The Mete features a side reversible magazine catch with additional sizes of release buttons and alternate backstraps for a custom fit. This is a great new addition to the Caniks lineup of handguns, and you will not be disappointed with this firearm.
