100% UHMW PE
Level III Rifle Hard Armor Plate is entirely made of highest grade UHMW Polyethylene fabric that is pressed into solid construction capable of stopping multiple rifle rounds.
Polyethylene is backed with a thin layer of EVA foam so absorb the impact energy even better and reduce back face deformation significantly.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN NIJ TESTED PLATE AND AN NIJ CERTIFIED PLATE?
An NIJ tested plate meets all the standards set forth by the National Institute of Justice and is rated to stop whatever rounds of that protection level after undergoing testing in independent NIJ certified Labs. For plates to be used by Law Enforcement while on active duty, they MUST be NIJ certified. This is mainly due to a more rigorous process of testing, which includes ballistic tests, Freezing the plates, heating the plates, tumbling them a certain amount of times, and then testing them again. The main reason why all plates aren’t NIJ certified is mainly due to costs, as the certification process is very expensive.
IS AN NIJ CERTIFIED PLATES HEAVIER THAN A STANDARD LEVEL 3?
Yes, our NIJ certified plate is 3.8 pounds as opposed to our NIJ tested at 3.5 pounds.
IS A TRAUMA PLATE BUILT INTO THE NIJ CERTIFIED PLATE?
Yes, there is foam on the back not only for comfort, but to reduce back force deformation.
IS THE PROTECTION ON A NIJ CERTIFIED PLATE BETTER THAN AN NIJ TESTED PLATE?
No, the NIJ certified plate has just undergone additional testing.
WILL THIS FIT INTO MY (INSERT PLATE CARRIER BRAND) PLATE CARRIER?
Our plates are made with a standard SAPI cut of 10×12, assuming your plate carrier is within standard specifications, it will fit.
