This shotgun is in good condition overall, manufactured in 1958, with a total production listed as 39,564 units that year. The model 12 will break down into two halfs and this one the serial number matches on both halfs. It does have wear and tear from 61 years of age, finish loss is evident especially on the reciever, barrel has vise like marks into the barrel and the wood has plenty of dings, dents, wear. However, a proud traditional Winchester 12ga made in the USA, from a time when designers had pen and paper and real people built each one. Winchester has since changed ownership and from the last currently produced shotguns I had seen, they are now made overseas. Seems every year there are less and less classic available due to "gun buy back" promotions and municipality court ordered destruction.
