We have a used Smith & Wesson Model .38/44 Outdoorsman Model of 1950 "Pre-Model 23" for sale. This revolver comes chambered in .38 S&W Special with a 6.5" barrel. This comes as shown in pictures with a (6)rd cylinder with adjustable rear sights, and a five digit "S" prefix serial number.  The .38/44 Outdoorsman .38 S&W Special cal., reintroduced September in 1950, with a double action revolver built on the square butt N 5 screw Target frame. Introduced with a raised ribbed barrel and a micrometer click rear sight and short throw hammer and trigger, with a blue finish. The S&W trademark is now found on the sideplate, with checkered Magna diamond walnut grips. Approximate serial number range S75000 to S261999 in the N frame S series with a total of 6,039 mfg. circa 1950-1957. This is in Very Good Used Condition still retaining its original blued finish.
