Product Description
A nice Savage Model 1899c Lever Action chambered in .303 Savage made in 1904.
Somewhat rare half-octagon, half-round 26" barrel makes this rifle stand out from others you tend to see listed.
Mechanically fine, with very light frosting in the bore, but good, crisp rifling. On the outside, this rifle shows little original bluing, and signs that it was in fact a hunting tool used by homesteaders in Washington's Skagit Valley. There is an ages-old ding on the bottom of the receiver, and the stock is missing a chunk (old and weathered damage matching the rest of the gun), with two parallel cracks stretching about 3-4" back. Detail photos available on request. Serial number is 36.xxx
Overall, this is a beautiful example of a classic American firearm!
