assembled at the Kirikkale Rifle Factory dated 1941.  this Ottoman Turkish model of 1938 Mauser is more than likely a captured gun as the serial number has been remarked. On that subject, all numbers are matching to the new number assigned to it in 1941.  Overall this is a solid rifle, A few dings in the stock, but pretty average. This rifle was converted to 7.92mm (8mm Mauser) by the Kirikkale rifle factory as part of their rebuild program. Finish appears original to the rebuild era showing a natural patina. CAI import marked on barrel.
