Chinese Type 56 SKS semi-automatic carbine in 7.62x39mm, serial number 1473325. Based on standard Chinese SKS serial dating conventions (millions place + 1956 for many arsenal 26 examples), this falls in the approximately 1957 production range. Features the classic fixed 10-round magazine, wooden stock and handguard, blued metal, and folding bayonet. Reliable, accurate, and historically significant as one of the most produced military rifles of the Cold War era. The example shows typical surplus wear: the wooden stock has numerous scratches, dings, and honest handling marks, while the metal retains good original condition with nice patina.  This is almost certainly a Vietnam gun.
