Savage Model 340A bolt-action hunting rifle (part of the Model 340 series produced circa 1950–1985, also sold under Stevens and Springfield branding). This is an early gun with the (rare) Dockendorff rear sight!  Features a plain one-piece hardwood stock with attractive grain, blued finish, detachable box magazine (typically 3–4 rounds), and a simple, reliable single-lug bolt action. This gun is chambered in .30-30 Winchester. Lightweight and practical for hunting or plinking, with a smooth bolt throw and crisp trigger. The example shows solid wood with minor handling marks and good metal finish consistent with honest use.
