How the transfer works — Texas residents only
- On October 9, 2026, ATF announced it will no longer enforce the NFA’s Form 4 approval, registration and tax-stamp requirements for suppressors.
- Texas removed suppressors from its prohibited-weapons law in 2021, so Texas adds no registration requirement of its own.
- This is a private sale between two Texas residents, documented by a signed Texas bill of sale: no Form 4, no tax stamp, no wait, unless->
- Unless we choose to do a voluntary Form 4 (see below), the suppressor will not be NFA-registered to you.
No out-of-state sales
- I will not sell out of state and I will not ship. No shipping anywhere. No GunTab. Local, in-person sale only.
Voluntary registration
- Registration is now voluntary, not abolished. ATF still maintains the NFA registry and still accepts and approves Form 4s from anyone who files one.
- This suppressor is currently NFA-registered to me, tax paid. If you would rather have it registered in your name, ask about a voluntary Form 4 transfer.
- The policy could change.
Pickup and payment
- Pickup: at my place in Houston, TX (Energy Corridor District, near I-10 West and North Eldridge), or at a mutually agreed location.
- ID: buyer must be a Texas resident, 21 or older, with a valid TX driver’s license, TX ID, or TX LTC/CHL (preferred).
- Paperwork: buyer completes and signs a Texas firearm bill of sale.
- Payment: cash at pickup, or an approved electronic method (wire transfer, Zelle).
- If you insist on using an FFL: it must be an FFL in the Houston area. Finding one willing to do the transaction, and all associated costs, are the buyer’s responsibility.
Terms
- No returns, no refunds. Serious buyers only.
- Buyer is responsible for complying with all laws wherever they take it; some states still require NFA registration.
- I reserve the right, at my sole discretion, to refuse or cancel any sale at any time before it is completed, for any reason or for no reason, without explanation.
