This RIA 1911 is a .45-caliber pistol. Based on the venerable 1911, this pistol boasts many features common to military 1911s of yesteryear: a short trigger, low-profile sights, A1-type safety, spur hammer, and more, yet with a highly-useful threaded barrel. This pistol is in Like New in Box condition, with three 8-rd magazines, its factory case, and all factory papers and accessories. This RIA 1911 is a great entry point to the 1911 ecosystem at a very attractive price. All factory rollmarks are present, indicating its caliber, place of manufacture, and the like.

Condition

Overall Condition: Like New in Box condition. This pistol shows essentially no wear, with only the faintest signs of prior ownership.

Bore Condition: Like New – bright, with sharp lands and grooves. The barrel threads are sharp and clean.

Slide Condition: Like New – the heavy phosphate finish shows essentially no wear.

Frame Condition: Like New – the phosphate finish shows essentially no wear. The rubber grip panels are soft and undamaged.

The M1911 pistol needs no introduction, having entered its second century of life at full speed. This example is Rock Island Armory’s take on the 1911, and offers a straightforward entry point to the 1911 game at a minimum of cost. Made by Armscor in the Philippines, these guns are solid bases for using as-is, or for upgrading as the shooter’s preferences change. The basic layout of this pistol is that of any milspec 1911, drawing many elements from the original Model of 1911 and the A1 upgrades, specifically: a heavy Parkerized finish; simple, low-profile GI type sights; a GI type spur hammer; an A1-type thumb safety; an original style straight mainspring housing; a GI type recoil spring plunger; and an A1-type short trigger. A few modern quality-of-life upgrades have been made, however, these being an extended beavertail to eliminate hammer bite, soft rubber grip panels, and a factory threaded barrel for any number of muzzle devices. This particular RIA M1911 is in Like New in Box condition, showing essentially no signs of prior use, and is complete as from the factory with three magazines and all factory papers/accessories in its case.

The 5 in barrel is factory original. All expected maker’s and caliber marks are visible on the slide and barrel. The barrel is in the traditional 1911 arrangement with its locking lugs and swinging link. The heavy Parkerizing shows vanishingly little wear. The bore is in Like New condition with strong, bright lands and grooves.

The frame is in Like New condition with similarly little wear or handling marks. The safety operates smoothly, and the rubber grip panels are soft and not damaged. The pistol ships with three 8-rd original magazines, all in Like New condition.

This RIA M1911 is a compelling opportunity to get ahold of a 1911 at a minimum of cost. It is in Like New in Box condition with three magazines. This pistol represents a great starting point for someone new to the platform and has plenty of room for customization if desired, while keeping the important core parts functional and up to date.
