Remington Model 31 pump-action shotgun chambered in 12 gauge with a 30 inch barrel, steel receiver, and wood stock, LOP 14 3/8 with pad. This shotgun dates to June 1948 production during the later post-war period of Model 31 manufacturing. The Model 31 was produced as a pump-action sporting shotgun platform prior to the introduction of the Remington 870, and late-production variants incorporated several updated design changes from earlier series production.

This Model 31 is used, overall condition is excellent for its age. It does have signs of honest wear and tear from being used. Finish loss mostly under the pump action and light freckles and spot of surface rust, marks, scratches, dings, dents normal use. Someone must have taken very good care of this shotgun for it to be in such great condition 78 years later. This one was made the year before the whole model line was discontinued and before the cost efficient successor 870 Wingmaster was ever made.  Third Series production models from the 1941–1949 period featured revisions to the trigger guard geometry and internal carrier system compared to earlier Model 31 configurations. The later production pattern also included updates to the action bar assembly and forearm profile. The shotgun retains the steel receiver and wood furniture configuration associated with the Model 31 line.

A manual is included with the shotgun. The firearm qualifies as a Curio & Relic due to its age and June 1948 manufacture date.
