Product Description

Single shot monster caliber of 45-70 government caliber, hard to find, here is your chance.

Very nice condition H&R SB2 with barrel stamped Ilion, NY indicates the H&R Handi-Rifle was manufactured between 2010 to 2015 and was built directly at the historic Remington Arms factory in New York during the final era of H&R production. Overall condition is very good to excellent, it does have scratches, marks, dings, dents, normal wear and tear, the bore is shinny and strong rifling. It was used, but likely not very much.

H&R 1871 Handi-Rifle single shot rifle chambered in .45-70 GOVT. with a break-action design and 22 inch barrel. This rifle uses the SB2 HEAVY DUTY (not the SB1) steel frame configuration associated with the Handi-Rifle line produced under the H&R 1871 name after the original Harrington & Richardson company ceased operations in the 1980s. The rifle has a one-round capacity and is fitted with a wood stock.

The Handi-Rifle series was introduced in the early 1990s as a modern continuation of H&R break-action long guns and remained in production through several ownership changes involving Marlin and later Remington. The 22 inch barrel configuration is part of the standard Handi-Rifle lineup and differs from longer variants such as the Buffalo Classic models. This rifle is used.

Production of the H&R break-action rifle line ended in 2015 after Remington consolidated manufacturing operations. The .45-70 GOVT. chambering, compact single shot layout, and steel frame construction made the SB2-pattern rifles one of the better-known configurations in the Handi-Rifle series.
