The Springfield Armory Model 1898 Krag in .30-40 Krag is a sporterized U.S. military bolt-action rifle made at Springfield Armory. The Krag-Jørgensen was the first smokeless-powder rifle issued to U.S. troops, and this one has been sporterized with a trimmed-down walnut stock.

Marked U.S. Model 1898 Springfield Armory, it keeps the Krag's side-loading gate magazine and comes with an olive drab sling. A great pick for military surplus collectors or a classic .30-40 hunting rifle.
