What's Included

  • CZ 83 7.65mm pistol

  • 2x 15-rd OEM magazines

CZ as a company needs little introduction – their outstanding guns have served civilians, military, and police for generations. The Model 83 came about as a commercial variant of the military CZ 82 service pistol, itself somewhat loosely inspired by the much older Walther PP. The 83 was offered in a variety of calibers, including 9mm Makarov, .380 ACP, and, least commonly, .32 ACP. An all-steel double-action pistol, this family of handguns is admired for its sturdy construction, highly accurate fixed barrels, ambidextrous controls, and high capacity. The .32 pistols are especially known for being very soft shooting. This particular Mod. 83 was made in 1991 and is in Excellent condition, showing very limited signs of prior use.

The 3.8 in barrel is factory original. All expected Czech marks are visible on the frame and barrel, including the date code as well as Czech proof marks. The barrel is fixed to the frame, providing increased accuracy potential. The high-gloss bluing on the sides of the slide contrast well with a glare-reducing matte finish and serrations along the top. Typical wear of a surplus pistol is seen on the exterior of the barrel, but the bore is in Excellent condition with strong, bright lands and grooves.

The frame is in Excellent condition with similarly little wear or handling marks. Both the frame and the slide exhibit a wonderful plum coloration under studio lighting – the deep blue comes out well in regular lighting conditions. The frame features a rounded trigger guard, indicating earlier production. The ambi safety and magazine catch appear to function normally. The pistol ships with two 15-rd original magazines, both in Excellent condition.

This CZ 83 in 7.65 is a compelling opportunity to get ahold of the least common caliber variant of the model. It is in Excellent condition with two, hard to find magazines. This pistol will fit in beautifully with any CZ or Cold War pistol collection.
