The FN 509C (Compact) is a striker-fired, polymer-framed 9mm semi-automatic pistol from FN America, designed for concealed carry while delivering full-size performance. It features a 3.7-inch cold hammer-forged stainless steel barrel with a recessed target crown and polished chamber/feed ramp, overall length of 6.8 inches, height of approximately 4.6-5 inches (depending on magazine), width of 1.35 inches, and unloaded weight of about 25.5 oz.


Standard capacity is 12+1 with a flush or extended magazine (plus a 15-round option); it also accepts higher-capacity FN 509 magazines (17- or 24-round with sleeves where legal). Controls are fully ambidextrous (slide stop and magazine release). The frame has enhanced aggressive texturing, interchangeable backstraps, and a MIL-STD-1913 accessory rail. The slide includes front and rear cocking serrations, an external extractor, and a loaded-chamber indicator. It uses a flat-faced trigger (typically 5.5-7.7 lb pull) with a clean break and includes low-profile high-visibility sights (MRD optics-ready versions and a Compact Tactical model with threaded barrel and suppressor-height sights are also available). Built on the proven 509 platform refined from FN's Modular Handgun System work, the 509C balances reliability, ergonomics, and concealability for everyday carry or duty use.
