Near 98% I would say and the light weight gold trigger on a A5 from the early 60s is nice. But the biggest surprise was it really weighs nothing in your hands. Great for a daughter or wife that hunts you could carry this all day. Not looking to trade.
- Manufacturer / Origin:
- Caliber & Chamber: 20 gauge, chambered for 2 ¾-inch shells (3-inch Magnum models weren't introduced until 1967).
- Design: Built on the classic "humpback" long-recoil action designed by John Browning.
- Grip Style: 1961 models typically feature the classic round pistol grip knob, which is sought after by collectors compared to later flat-bottom grips.
- Friction Ring System: Uses a manual friction ring and bronze friction piece setup on the magazine tube that must be configured differently depending on whether you are shooting light target loads or heavy field loads.
The "Light" Designation: While it is structurally a "Light Twenty," Belgian-made A5 20-gauges from 1961 were simply engraved with "Twenty" on the side of the receiver. Browning did not visually stamp "Light Twenty" onto the metal until the early 1970s, though the "Z" code confirms its lightweight status.
