This is a very rare Winchester pre-64 model 70. They made around 2300 in this caliber, 250-3000, and about 200 of them were in the "Super Grade" trim. This is a single family owned rifle. It was made in 1949 and sold new to my father in Seattle. He took it on an antelope and mule deer hunt in Montana and after cleaning it up, put it away. I don't ever recall seeing or hearing of him using it again. It is totally original as he purchased it. The wood and the metal are remarkably preserved. Winchester historians indicate this was one of the last ones made before production ceased in this caliber. This is a rare opportunity to own a piece of rifle history.
