A beautifully preserved, classic Winchester Model 50 semi-automatic shotgun chambered in 12 Gauge (2-3/4" chamber). Renowned as one of Winchester's finest engineering achievements, the Model 50 was designed by David Marshall "Carbine" Williams and features a revolutionary short-recoil, "floating chamber" system. Unlike standard semi-automatics of its era, the barrel remains completely static during cycling, dramatically reducing felt recoil and delivering an exceptionally smooth, non-binding shooting experience.

This field gun comes equipped with a plain 28-inch barrel choked in Full. Making it a quintessential setup for waterfowl or upland game hunting. It features standard, crisp factory roll-stamps on the left side of the barrel reading "WINCHESTER —TRADEMARK— MODEL 50 — 12 GA. — 2-3/4 CHAM. — / WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL / FULL". The receiver is solid milled steel with a rich, deep factory bluing. It sports its original walnut furniture with checkered diamond accents on both the pistol grip and forend, completed by the iconic factory-branded hard composition checkered butt plate.
Condition:
This shotgun is in excellent condition, especially for a 1961 vintage field gun. The deep factory bluing on the receiver and barrel is remarkably clean, showing only very minor, light finish thinning near the typical slide contact points. The stock and forend retain a smooth gloss finish with sharp checkering lines and no cracks, deep gouges, or structural damage. The bore is bright, smooth, and free from pitting or frosting. Mechanically, the floating chamber assembly and internal inertia components cycle crisp and smooth, locking up tightly. The serial number 187250 is sharply struck on the bottom of the receiver, cleanly matching the factory oval proof stampings.
