What's Included

  • Winchester Model 12 12ga shotgun

“The Perfect Repeater” was the name they gave to the Winchester Model 12, and it may still be. The Model 12 was made for many, many years, and is a prime example of American manufacturing excellence. Featuring a forged steel receiver, walnut wood, and hand-fitted parts, this Model 12 is the grandfather of American repeating shotguns. Every Model 12 was additionally a takedown model, although we have not attempted this on this example. Its action is prized for smoothness, plus its ability to slam fire. We believe this gun to be in original condition, given the crispness of its markings, plus the matte finish on the receiver top and magazine tube.

The 30 in barrel is original to the best of our knowledge. Standard Winchester marks and proofs are visible on the receiver and barrel alike. The small front bead is present and in good condition. Bore is in Excellent condition, with a mirror-bright appearance. No pitting is visible.

The shotgun's furniture is factory standard and is in Very Good condition. The walnut wood is still beautiful condition with nicks and dings consistent with use over its life. The black buttplate is original to the best of our knowledge. No cracks or splits are noted.

This Model 12 is nearing its 100th year of service, and will continue to bust clays or put food on the table for many years to come. Its graceful lines, enduring collector appeal, and place in the sporting traditions of generations past make this shotgun one to be admired as well as used.
