The LG&Y musket was a product of the firm of E.G. Lamson, A. F. Goodnow, and B. B. Yale with forging facilities at Windsor, Vermont and machine shops in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts. This LG&Y longarm was produced by the firm during the years 1862 thru 1864.
The barrel of this weapon has been cleaned and is therefore bright with minor scattered oxidation spots. The front sight is present at the muzzle. Rear sight has both blued flip up leaves.Nipple is excellent. Bore is clean with very good rifling.
The lock plate matches the rest of the iron on the weapon with a cleaned surface.Action is crisp and works properly. Lock plate screws and hammer screw are excellent. The dark wood of the stock is in overall excellent condition and does not look to have been touched.
The iron buttplate, trigger guard and barrel bands match the barrel surface. The band has a crisp “U” stamping. The bands are held in place by screws only which is correct. Both sling swivels are present. Ramrod is original with the correct straight shanked tulip head.
Nice looking weapon in very nice condition.
Make me an offer.
