I have a brand new Sig Sauer rifle for sale that I purchased from a local dealer in Prescott Valley in October 2024, when this model was released. It has never been had a round in the chamber. Right after I purchased it, I sustained a back injury that I hoped would get better so I could use it, but the pain is getting worse, so I am selling it. My loss is your gain.
The MCX Regulator (MCX-R) is featured in a ranch style rifle platform, as Sig says they are re-defining the ranch style rifle. I purchased this style so if the government ever decided to ban assault rifles, this would not be considered an AR style assault rifle.
However, this rifle is still based around the design of the "MCX" with its rotating bolt operated by a short-stroke gas piston. The proprietary lower is still compatible with "ANY" MCX upper. It comes with fully ambidextrous controls, which includes bilateral magazine release buttons, safety and bolt release an an "AR" type rear charging handle. The trigger is a two-stage match unit. The lower receiber has as built-in ARCA rail between the triggerguard and magaziine well for mounting the rifle to your tripod.
Actually, where this rifle differs from the regular MCX rifles series, is for one, it is designed like a sporting rifle, and second, what really stands out is the rear stock. The MCX's short-stroke piston design contains its recol springs withing the receiver, meaning there is no need for a receiver extension, so this allows this rifle to use a traditional type one piece buttstock. I really liked this stock because it allows me to adjust the length of pull and comb height. I have horses, and was going to use this for hunting while riding. It is just like having a hunting rifle while being able to use 5.56 rounds.
