The Taurus 689 comes from what many consider Taurus's golden era of revolver manufacturing, built with solid forged steel frames rather than modern, cheaper metal MIM (metal injection molding) parts. Inspired directly by the legendary Smith & Wesson L-frame design and classic Colt Python styling, it pairs a full-underlug barrel and ventilated rib with double-locking cylinder mechanics that provide an exceptionally strong lockup and smooth lockwork.
