AAC Ranger 5 — 5.56 NATO Silencer, Inconel 718, 32 dB, Full-Auto Rated

The Ranger 5 is AAC’s full-size 5.56 can, built out of Inconel 718 and 17-4 H900 stainless steel and finished in high-temp Cerakote. It runs 15.2 ounces and 5.825 inches with the direct thread mount fitted, at 1.5 inches in diameter, and AAC rates it at 32 dB of reduction. It is full-auto rated.

Inconel is the reason to care. It is the alloy that turns up in turbine sections and gas-cutting torch tips, and in a suppressor it is what lets a can take sustained fire from a short barrel without eroding the blast baffle. This is a hard-use 5.56 can rather than a lightweight hunting one.

Mount Included, and It Is Not a Bare Tube

The body is cut for the 1.375x24 universal HUB thread, so it takes the industry-standard range of mounts, and it ships with a 1/2-28 direct thread mount with a muzzle brake built into it. That means it is complete as sold — thread it onto a 1/2-28 barrel and shoot. If you later want quick-detach, the HUB thread means you are not locked into one ecosystem.

Built to Be Cleaned

Both the end cap and the base come off for cleaning, which matters more on a 5.56 can than people expect — short barrels and suppressed fire put a lot of carbon into a tube that cannot be serviced.

Buying a Silencer Just Got Simple

The federal transfer tax on silencers went to $0 on 1 January 2026, and as of 9 October 2026 the ATF no longer requires a Form 4, a tax stamp, fingerprints, photographs or NFA registration to transfer one. It is a Form 4473 and a NICS check now — the same as buying a handgun, finished the same day. If you have been putting this off because of the paperwork and the wait, there is no longer any paperwork or any wait.

No Form 4, no tax stamp, no wait. As of 9 October 2026 the ATF no longer requires a Form 4, a tax stamp, fingerprint cards, passport photographs or NFA registration to transfer a silencer. You fill out an ATF Form 4473 and pass a NICS background check — the same paperwork as buying a pistol — and you take it home the same day. Nothing to pay the federal government, and nothing to wait for.

Availability and collection. This silencer is bought and paid for and is inbound to our shop. It can be reserved now and collected once it lands — we will give you the actual date, not an estimate. Collection is in person at Tyrant Tactical in Avondale, AZ.

Arizona residents. Straight over the counter on a 4473. Arizona excludes silencers held in compliance with federal law from its prohibited weapons definition, so there is no state permit and no state registration to deal with.

Out of state. We are selling these locally only. A silencer is still a firearm under the Gun Control Act and cannot be handed directly to a non-resident, so if you are outside Arizona it would have to route through a licensed dealer in your state — and we are not set up to do that on these.

Buyer responsibilities. You must not be a prohibited person; the 4473 and the NICS check establish that. The ATF guidance does not override state or local law, and some states ban silencers outright or tie their legality to a federal registration that no longer exists.
