This is the Ruger American Pistol Compact (8648) in .45 ACP with an ambidextrous manual safety. It ships with one 10-round extended magazine and one 7-round compact magazine, both nickel-Teflon plated steel. The 3.75" stainless barrel has a 1:16" twist. A recoil-reducing barrel cam, a low-mass slide and a low bore axis cut felt recoil and muzzle flip. The stainless steel slide has a non-reflective black nitride finish, and sights are genuine Novak LoMount Carry 3-dot. The one-piece glass-filled nylon grip frame sits on a precision-machined, black-nitrided stainless steel chassis with integral frame rails and fire control housing. The wrap-around grip module is interchangeable, and two grip modules, medium and large, are included. The pre-tensioned striker gives a short-takeup trigger with positive reset. Safety features are the ambidextrous manual safety, an integrated trigger safety and an internal automatic sear block. The slide stop and magazine release are ambidextrous, and the frame has a MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail. Ruger lists 7.25" length, 4.65" height, 1.50" width and 29 oz with an empty magazine.
