This brand-new MasterPiece Arms DS9 Open Competition Pistol is chambered in 9mm and purpose-built as a serious Open Division race gun. Based on MPA’s double-stack 1911/2011-style platform, the DS9 Open was developed specifically for high-level practical pistol competition and incorporates the specialized features expected of a dedicated Open gun. This example features an extended multi-port compensator, aggressively lightened/serrated slide, frame-mounted optic mount, adjustable frame-mounted thumb rest, extended slide racker, ambidextrous thumb safeties, competition hammer and an exceptionally light 1 lb. 10 oz. trigger pull as indicated on the accompanying MPA factory tag. The pistol is finished in an attractive matte gray/silver configuration with contrasting black controls and grip panels, accented by a blue trigger and oversized blue competition magwell. The aggressive grip texture, oversized magazine well, extended controls and substantial thumb rest give the pistol the unmistakable appearance and ergonomics of a purpose-built race gun. The extended compensator and heavily relieved slide further distinguish this DS9 from MPA’s more conventional DS9 competition configurations. This pistol is brand new and includes one magazine. No red-dot optic is included; the pistol is equipped with the frame-mounted optic mount ready for a compatible optic. Please refer closely to the photographs for the exact configuration, finish and included items.
