GLOCK will retrofit early-production Glock 42 models for free if you send it to their factory facility in Smyrna, Georgia

When the Glock 42 initially launched in 2014, early-production variants (often featuring unmarked or "-1" frames and original "-01" magazines) faced widespread, well-documented reliability issues, including failures to feed, failures to eject, and premium defensive ammunition accidentally bumping into the slide stop lever, causing premature slide locks.

To fix this, GLOCK quietly updated several internal components. If you take advantage of their upgrade program, their factory technicians typically replace:

The Slide Stop Lever: Swapped for an updated, streamlined profile that prevents bullet tips from clipping it.
The Trigger Mechanism Housing / Connector: Replaced to improve functionality and clean up the trigger break.
The Magazines: Upgraded from the older styles to the current, highly reliable "-03" marked magazines, which feature a modified feed lip and a molded internal vertical ridge that ensures flawless cartridge alignment. [1, 2]
