For Sale: A beautiful, highly desirable Walther PPK commercial semi-automatic rimfire pistol chambered in .22 LR. Manufactured in 1939 (Serial Number 240887k) at the legendary original factory in Zella-Mehlis, Germany, during the highly sought-after pre-war production era. This scarce .22 LR configuration is a premier example of Walther’s legendary engineering, produced in significantly fewer numbers than the standard centerfire models.
This pistol is in Excellent (96%) condition, showing an exceptional level of preservation for an 87-year-old firearm. The original factory high-polish blued finish is deep and clean, displaying only minor, classic thinning at the sharpest edges of the muzzle from holster storage. The frame and slide feature crisp, period-correct pre-1940 "Crown over N" commercial nitro proof marks. The raw metal inside the slide channel features the original, factory hand-scribed matching serial number fragments (887), confirming the pistol remains completely all-matching and un-tampered with. The original, one-piece brown mottled Bakelite grip wrap is in stellar condition with crisp checkering and absolutely zero cracks or shrinking.
Features the legendary, smooth fixed-barrel design with a correct 60-degree safety lever throw and a clear, un-peened rimfire chamber mouth. True to original factory specifications for the .22 LR variant, this slide correctly omits the loaded chamber indicator pin.
