The X-Bolt 2 is Browning’s rebuilt bolt gun, and the Speed is the configuration set up for a hunter who intends to shoot it: a 22-inch fluted sporter barrel threaded 5/8x24 with a radial muzzle brake fitted, an adjustable DLX trigger, top-tang safety and a detachable rotary magazine holding four rounds of 6.5 Creedmoor.

The metal wears Smoked Bronze Cerakote against an FDE composite stock with black rubber inserts at the grip and comb. It weighs 6 pounds 10 ounces and runs 42 inches overall, which is a rifle you can actually carry up a hill. It ships without sights, drilled and tapped, so you fit the optic you want.

Threaded And Braked From The Factory

The 5/8x24 threads come with the radial brake already fitted, so the rifle is ready for a brake, a suppressor or a thread protector without a trip to a gunsmith. On a 6.5 Creedmoor the brake makes spotting your own impacts realistic, which matters more on a hunt than it does on paper.

Adjustable DLX Trigger And Rotary Magazine

The DLX trigger is user-adjustable for pull weight rather than fixed at whatever left the factory. The magazine is Browning’s detachable rotary design, which feeds straight into the chamber and drops free — a real improvement over a hinged floorplate if you unload in the field.
