The LC Carbine is Ruger’s answer to the pistol-caliber carbine done properly: a bolt-over-barrel design that puts a full 16.25-inch barrel into a rifle only 30.6 inches long, with the magazine in the grip and a reversible side-folding stock that makes it genuinely compact for storage or transport. This is the .45 Auto version, rated for +P.

It runs 13+1 and accepts commonly available Glock-pattern .45 Auto magazines, so feeding it is cheap and easy. The barrel is fluted alloy steel, threaded .578x28 with a protector fitted, and the CNC-milled aluminum handguard carries M-LOK on seven sides plus QD sling sockets. Sights are Ruger’s Rapid Deploy folding units, adjustable for windage and elevation, with a Picatinny rail at the rear for an optic.

Glock-Pattern Magazines

This is the practical argument for the .45 LC Carbine over a proprietary-magazine competitor. It feeds from off-the-shelf Glock-pattern .45 Auto magazines, which are widely available and inexpensive, so spares cost a fraction of what proprietary carbine magazines run. One 13-round magazine is included with the rifle.

Folds To 30.6 Inches, Barrel And All

The bolt-over-barrel layout is what makes this work — the bolt travels above the barrel rather than behind it, so the rifle keeps a legal 16.25-inch barrel without the overall length a conventional carbine would need. Fold the reversible stock and it goes in a pack or behind a seat. Length of pull adjusts from 12.6 to 14.6 inches.
