This original 20 Ga Chiefs Grade Fowler has a browned 36” tapered octagon to double wedding bands to tapered round 1-1/16” to 15/16” to 23/32” smoothbore cylinder bore barrel with a German silver bead front sight inlayed in the barrel. Inscribed on the top flat is London accompanied with the Sitting Fox stamped in a circle. English Proof Marks are stamped on the left flat. The bore is smooth with light frosting throughout but no pits. The P grade English Walnut stock is mounted with very tastefully engraved brass furniture, including a German silver thumb piece that is embossed with an Indian bust. Nice carving is noted behind the breech plug tang. Both sides of the wrist is stamped with the English broad arrow. A browned flint lock with roller is activated by a single trigger. Stamped on the plate is Hollis and behind the hammer, encased in a Hunter’s horn is an engraved bores head. The lock functions as it should, throwing a shower of sparks in the pan.  Please Note: Intentional wood removal is noted above the lock plate to allow for cocking the hammer – most likely done during production.  Small splinters of wood are missing along both sides of the barrel channel. There are three old repaired cracks in the stock. One curving up from the tail of the entry pipe to the barrel channel on the right side, the second extending 2” from the tip of the tang toward the wrist and the third extending through a barrel pin up to the barrel channel on the left side. No wood movement is seen from the vintage repairs. However, we are selling this fowler AS-IS.  Length of pull is 13-3/4”. Overall Length is 52”. Weight is 5 lbs.
