Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) Springfield Armory Service Grade with a November 1944 serial number for sale. This fine example comes with a CMP hard case, certificate of authenticity, hang tag, CMP "U.S. Rifle, Caliber .30, M1 booklet, sling and one clip.  This is an 82 year-old rifle with lots of character and is an opportunity to own a piece of history.  These CMP rifles are getting scare with many categories being "sold out", this Service Grade being one example.  The serial number (3301555) puts this rifle in the middle of Springfield Armory builds. Muzzle and throat readings of +2. Desirable LMR barrel dated 5-53.  The stock is a new CMP version shipped with the rifle.  I will include a used USGI replacement stock if you want to swap out the CMP stock. Please note that the CMP  advise not to use .30/06 ammunition in M1 Garands that is loaded beyond 50,000 CUP and has a bullet weight more than 172-174 gr.  These rifles are more that 70 years old and were not designed for max loads and super heavy bullets.
