The Daniel Defense DDM4 V3 is a high-quality, legacy AR-15 style rifle built around a 16-inch cold hammer-forged barrel and enhanced with a mid-length gas system. Developed as an upgrade to the original V1 model, the V3 was designed to deliver a smoother shooting experience and an extended sight radius. Key features include the mid-length gas system, which lowers internal gas pressure compared to a carbine-length system, resulting in reduced recoil, less wear on components, and quicker follow-up shots. The rifle’s fixed front sight base, a traditional A2-style pinned tower, is paired with the included Daniel Defense A1.5 fixed detachable rear sight for immediate iron-sight use. It also incorporates a 9.0-inch free-float DDM4 quad rail (or Omega X 9.0 rail on early models), positioned just behind the front sight tower, providing sturdy Picatinny mounting space for accessories such as lights, lasers, and the included DD vertical foregrip without affecting barrel harmonics. The premium 16-inch government-profile barrel is crafted from chrome-moly vanadium steel, features a 1:7 twist rate, is chrome-lined for exceptional durability and corrosion resistance, and is chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO, making it capable of safely firing both 5.56 and .223 Remington ammunition.
