German Mauser model 98,was used in Israel war for independence in 1948,in original 7.92x57 calibre,after the war was rebarreled by FN Belgium and sent back to Israel,but was never used again,because they switched to machine guns,UZI and American. 7.62x51 NATO is also.308 so the choice of ammunition great!Barrel is pristine because was hardly ever shot.Numbers after it was rebarreled ,not matching,but FN did a good job and the function is great.Also has original Israeli sling.
