The FN SCAR 17S in 7.62x51mm NATO with Flat Dark Earth (FDE) finish represents the next-generation evolution of the iconic battle rifle, incorporating over 25 innovative upgrades without increasing the price for U.S. consumers. This semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston platform delivers legendary reliability and modularity, now enhanced with a hydraulically buffered two-piece bolt carrier that significantly reduces felt recoil and enables faster, more controlled follow-up shots. The cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined, free-floating 16.25-inch heavy barrel with compensator is tested to 16,000 rounds for high-volume durability, while user-changeable barrel capability allows customization for length or even caliber swaps.

The extended receiver and integrated rail system feature M-LOK slots at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions for expanded accessory mounting and improved forward grip surface, with a heat shield-equipped window for easy access to the regulator and piston removal. Fully ambidextrous controls shine through with oversized bolt catch/release, elongated magazine release, customizable selector levers offering multiple configurations, user-configurable non-reciprocating charging handles and a two-position adjustable gas regulator for optimized performance suppressed or unsuppressed—ideal when paired with low back-pressure forward-venting options like the FN QD762. The telescoping side-folding polymer stock includes an adjustable cheekpiece, true AR grip compatibility for personalized ergonomics and QD sling points for tactical versatility in a compact 36-38.5 inch overall length.
