The Kel-Tec Sub 2000 platform, like most of Kel-Tec’s catalog, is a very unique weapon, and offers several advantages for the modern shooter. Chambered in a variety of pistol cartridges, this example fires the high velocity 5.7x28mm, which offers a significant punch and a large magazine capacity. Since the Sub 2000’s introduction in 2001, the model has undergone several generational upgrades to meet the demands of the market: most significantly, this example can be folded with the top-mounted optic attached.

This rifle features a simple blowback operating system, and a unique rear-mounted charging handle that permits ambidextrous operation. A simple crossbolt push button safety is placed conveniently above the pistol grip. The rifle’s inline recoil design minimizes muzzle rise.

The rifle’s 16” barrel is factory standard. It features a black oxide finish and standard 1/2x28” threading for your favorite muzzle devices. This particular example came to us with a Tasco Pro-Point red dot sight, which offers a wide optic tube and is tested functional. These larger form red dots are great for shooters with astigmatism.

The rifle’s furniture is factory standard. A ribbed handguard is provided, as is a surprisingly comfortable stock. Additionally, bottom 1913 rails and 3 and 9 o’clock MLOK slots are standard on the forend for the installation of any modern accessory desired. The folding mechanism is activated by pressing the trigger guard down, then folding and rotating the barrel assembly up and backwards. The gun locks in the folded position by way of one of the MLOK slots. Unfolding can be done by depressing a button on the top of the buttstock.

This Sub 2000 is the perfect choice for a truck or backpacking gun. Its 20-rd capacity permits plenty of firepower while keeping the weight low for easy mobility.
