French MAS Mle 1936 rifle sporterized by Golden State Arms for the civilian market as a Santa Fe Model 1949. Serial number FG51601. Features a J.C. Higgins recoil pad buttstock.

The rifle has been modified from its original military configuration for civilian hunting/sporting use. Mixed parts may be associated with arsenal rework, assembly, or the later sporterization.

Caliber has not been determined. The rifle is marked with the original French 7.5x54mm caliber, but it may have undergone a custom modification, and a different caliber marking was not identified.
