For sale: Remington Model 550-1, chambered for .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle interchangeably (the 550-1's floating chamber design lets it cycle all three without any adjustment). Made in Ilion, NY. 23" barrel. Semi-automatic, tube-fed magazine, walnut stock. Front sight adjustable for windage, rear sight adjustable for elevation.

This model was produced from 1946 to 1970, so it's a genuinely old design - it's one of the more interesting vintage .22s because of the multi-cartridge capability, and it has a following among collectors and shooters of older Remington rimfires.

Condition - being upfront here: this gun needs some work.
- The barrel has fairly extensive surface rust (photos available). This is exterior surface oxidation; I have not attempted to clean or treat it.
- The plastic buttplate is broken and needs to be replaced. Replacement buttplates for this model are available online and are not expensive.
- Stock shows expected handling wear for its age, no cracks noted.
- This rifle was last fired probably 20 or more years ago but worked as it should at that time.

This is a solid project/restoration candidate for someone who wants to clean it up and bring it back, or wants it for parts. Selling as-is.

Buyer welcome to inspect in person before purchase. Cash only, local pickup preferred in Springfield.
