42" bbl., 3 bbl. bands, lock is marked Harpers Ferry 1851, good bore, wood is solid, overall good condition.   The model 1842 musket was the first regulation perc. rifle. Approx 14,000 were later altered by rifling the bbls. this is a nice example of that model.
