Excellent Condition 6-Digit Springfield Armory M1 Garand May 1941

An excellent-condition, 6-digit M1 Garand produced by Springfield Armory in May 1941, just months before the United States entered World War II following the attack on Pearl Harbor.

The rifle is fitted with a new-production Criterion barrel and is an excellent shooter. It retains a number of desirable early World War II components, including a -6 SA operating rod, a -2 marked follower, and a -2 SA bolt.

The rear sight is a Type 2 Springfield Armory locking-bar battle sight with a flat sight cover marked B-8872. Additional early components include a -1 SA trigger housing, C-46008-1 hammer, -6 SA safety, and a forged trigger guard marked C-46025-1-SA.

The USHI stock is unmarked aside from a non-serif “P” proof mark on the pistol grip and faint, filled holes on the left side where a grenade sight was previously installed.

This is a remarkable example for the collector, combining an early Springfield Armory receiver with numerous hard-to-find World War II-era components. Each of these original parts has a story to tell, making this rifle not only an excellent addition to a collection but also a fascinating conversation piece to be appreciated at the range.
