I believe it is an M96, the crest stamp reads Mauser Waffrefabrik Mauser Oberndorf a/n 1899.


Bolt, floorplate,  saftey, bolt release all number match to the rifle, knurled striker "cocking piece' does not. 


A nice example of a period sporter, has Redfield peep sight and has been glass bedded. It is very accurate from the bit I have fired it.
