For sale is an early-production Smith & Wesson Model 41 .22 LR target pistol, serial number in the low 45,000 range, placing it in approximately 1963-era production.

This pistol comes as shown in pictures (1) 10rd original magazine with the metal X follower, not a plastic reproduction. The magazine itself is highly sought after.

This is the classic original-production Model 41 configuration: a finely made, all-steel target pistol with the desirable 7⅜-inch long barrel and original-style removable factory muzzle brake/compensator. It is the earlier long-barrel version—not the later plain 7-inch barrel—and retains the period-correct features collectors and bullseye shooters look for, including the un-drilled barrel and early frame configuration.

The Model 41 is one of the landmark American rimfire target pistols. Early examples with the long compensated barrel are increasingly hard to find in unmodified, period-correct configuration. This would make an excellent addition for a S&W collector, bullseye competitor, or anyone wanting a classic high-quality .22 target pistol rather than a modern production rimfire.

Condition: Please review photos carefully and judge overall cosmetic condition for yourself. The pistol shows normal honest handling/use marks consistent with its age, with no non-factory scope-mount holes or modern alterations visible. This pistol is in great working used condition. Overall I would grade at the pistol at approximately 90% due to light surface blemishes on the barrel and wear on one side of the wooden grips (see photos).
