1944, World War II Remington 1911 45 caliber, it's a super clean pistol with all the right numbers all number matching inside and out. I opened it up to clean it and what did I find the original packing grease, I went ahead and cleaned it lowered it fired off five rounds and it shoots beautifully. it is engraved USDOE – NTS and then the soldiers identification number. that stands for United States department of energy New Mexico test site. all the soldier did is carry it. It was never fired until I acquired it, it comes with ammunition, three clips and a carrying case from Cabela's.
