Vintage Harrington & Richardson Model 48 Topper 12 ga (1945), 2 3/4" chamber, 30 inch barrel, with FULL choke.  Unmolested 100% original.  Oil finished walnut stocks with nice figured grain in pistol grip butt stock, beavertail forearm are excellent with no dings, scratches or cracks.  Has a color-case hardened receiver with the markings TOPPER M48, HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON ARMS CO., WORCESTER, MASS - MADE IN U.S.A. Serial number F337X.  The trigger, hammer, and the self adjusting barrel latch are case hardened as well.  30 inch barrel retains 96+% blueing, a brass bead front sight and shiny bore and chamber.  3-piece breakdown with matching serial numbers throughout.  Butt plate is markedwith the H&R logo and in near perfect condition.  Auto ejection with lever break open action (tight with good mechanics).  This 81 year old shotgun does have some very minor finish wear at the carry points, but has great presentation overall .   An excellent choice for the upcoming bird season... a reputation for being well-made, reliable, light weight and an easy all-day carry in the field.  All wood and steel construction... no plastic anywhere.  Made in the USA.

  Special Note:  The M48 was H&R's firt shotgun to carry the TOPPER designation.  Manufactured 1943-1956.  TOPPER shotguns made during WWII (1943, 1944 and 1945) are now sought after by collectors.
