Husqvarna M/40 semi-automatic pistol manufactured in Sweden and later transferred to the Danish National Police. This wartime-production Curio & Relic pistol bears Swedish military “SS” inspection markings associated with Captain Sten Stenmo, the ordnance inspection officer assigned to Husqvarna production during the 1940–1946 period. The M/40 was the Swedish adaptation of the Lahti design and was produced for military service before a number of pistols were later acquired by Denmark following World War II.

This pistol is used. Danish police property markings tied to Rigspolitiet service are present, including the “Rplt” designation associated with the Danish National Police. The “S” branch marking and accompanying inventory number identify the pistol within Danish police records and inventory tracking. These postwar markings reflect the pistol’s later use after transfer from Swedish military stocks into Danish police service.

The wartime Swedish acceptance stamp and Danish police inventory markings place the pistol within the documented postwar transfer period when Denmark acquired Husqvarna M/40 pistols for police and security use. The combination of Swedish military inspection marks and Danish National Police property markings distinguishes this Curio & Relic M/40 from standard commercial or military-only production variants. Overall condition is used military, police surplus, scratches, dings, dents, marks, finish loss, wear and tear from decades of use. The take down lever has been substitiued with a metal bar, which should be replaced. Holster is leather, pistol is import marked and includes two magazines.
