Savage Mark II-F .22LR Bolt-Action Rifle 

This Savage Mark II-F is a classic bolt-action .22 Rifle. In Fair original condition, showing wear on the blued steel receiver and barrel. While worn along the top of the rifle, the underlying mechanics seem to be perfectly functional. The serial dates this example to the year 2000. These Savage Mk IIs are excellent little rifles with a sterling reputation for accuracy through their button-rifled barrels. This rifle is still in perfect working order and will continue to serve for many years to come.

Specific Condition Notes: Despite wear on the top of the barrel and receiver, the rifle appears to be in perfect working order. Bolt action is smooth, trigger is crisp, and the bore is in very good condition.

The Savage Mark II is the evolution of Savage’s Canadian operations, with first models appearing in 1969 under the Lakefield Arms brand name. When the Savage company acquired Lakefield in 1995, they adopted this model into their catalog and offered it under their own name. Known for its budget-friendly price and accuracy punching well above its weight class, the Mark II is a mainstay in the bolt-action .22 market. This example has lived a life of long service since the new millennium, but remains in excellent mechanical condition.

The 21 in barrel is original to the best of our knowledge. Standard Savage marks and proofs are visible on the receiver and barrel alike. The top of the barrel and receiver show noticeable wear and discoloration from use. Front blade and rear tangent sights are in excellent condition, suggestive of recent replacement. Trigger, while pre-AccuTrigger, is crisp and light. The bolt is simple in design and permits rapid cycling. Safety functions positively. Bore is in Excellent condition, with a mirror-bright appearance with sharp lands and grooves. No pitting is visible in the bore.

The rifle’s furniture is factory standard and is in Good condition. The black polymer stock with semi-pistol grip lends itself to natural alignment of the sights and a comfortable cheek weld – despite its nicks and dings.

This Mark II-F is a great chance to get a solid performing .22 bolt gun for a low entry fee. Its sterling reputation for accuracy and simple, durable construction ensure that this rifle will serve for many years to come.
