The rifle is in good overall surplus condition. The metal retains an attractive military-style finish with visible wear consistent with age and previous service. The walnut stock and handguards show handling marks, scratches, dents, and finish wear consistent with a military rifle of this age. Please carefully examine all photographs because they are part of the condition description.
Like most surviving military M1 Garands, this rifle may contain replacement parts installed during maintenance or an arsenal rebuild. The receiver’s manufacture date does not establish that every component is original to the rifle. Individual component dates, drawing numbers, barrel markings, muzzle wear, and throat erosion have not been verified unless otherwise stated.
The firing history and complete service history are unknown. No claim is made that this rifle remains in its original 1941 configuration.
This is an attractive example of an early six-digit Springfield Armory M1 Garand and would make an excellent addition to a U.S. military, World War II, or historic-service-rifle collection.
The military-style web sling shown in the photographs is included. No box, case, certificate, en-bloc clip, or additional accessories are included unless specifically shown or stated.
